- Technician competence and certification readiness

π§° Key Responsibilities
π Training Delivery & Development
- Deliver technical training on:
- New model introductions
- Curriculum-based programs
- Performance improvement training
- Provide in-depth instruction on Ford vehicle systems including:
- Engines and transmissions
- Electrical and electronic systems
- Brakes, steering, and suspension
- Conduct hands-on practical demonstrations and workshop exercises
- Ensure training aligns with industry safety and regulatory standards
π Training Material Preparation
- Review and adapt training content in collaboration with the training development team
- Support translation and localization of materials for the South African market
- Prepare full training kits including:
- PowerPoint presentations
- Student guides and worksheets
- Assessment papers and answer memos
- Ensure training rooms, vehicles, tools, and equipment are fully prepared before sessions
π Quality & Performance Improvement
- Identify training gaps and recommend improvements
- Develop special training interventions based on market needs
- Contribute to FIRFT improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate training records and attendance data using STARS systems
π€ Dealer & Market Support
- Collaborate with Field Service Engineers (FSE), Zone Managers, and Technical Assistance Centres (TAC)
- Support technician nomination and class scheduling to improve training attendance rates
- Assist dealers in technician certification pathways
- Provide guidance on learning progression and technical development
π Market Activities & Events
- Support technician skill competitions and technical contests
- Assist in Reward and Recognition programs
- Contribute to School-to-Work apprentice programs and bridge programs for technicians from other OEMs
- Support ad-hoc technical training initiatives as required

Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:
- Technical Diploma or Bachelorβs Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
OR - Trade Certificate (Automotive Industry Designated Trade) + N4
OR - Trade Certificate + N3 plus Ford Technical Training Level 1 Qualification
Experience Required:
- Extensive experience in the automotive industry
- Strong background in vehicle diagnostics, repair procedures, and technical service
- Prior experience in technical training or mentoring is highly advantageous
- Familiarity with structured automotive training systems and dealer networks
