Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Grade 10 or equivalent qualification with at least 5 years of experience in driving or messenger services; OR
- Grade 12 qualification with at least 3 years of experience in driving or messenger services.
Applicants must also have:
- A valid Code 10 (EC1) driver’s licence
- A valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit)
- Knowledge of South African transport regulations
- Good communication skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, night duty, and public holidays
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Operating government vehicles safely and legally
- Transporting patients and staff to various destinations
- Delivering and collecting official documents and stock
- Completing vehicle inspections and reporting incidents
- Maintaining vehicle logbooks and transport forms
- Managing fuel cards, fuel receipts, and vehicle keys
- Ensuring compliance with National Transport Regulations
- Carrying out lawful transport-related instructions from the Transport Officer
