About the Opportunity
Rand Water is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Driver’s Aide – Transport to join its Bulk Water Services Operations team in Johannesburg South. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working in transport, logistics, and operational environments and are looking to build a long-term career in the transport and utilities sector.
The successful candidate will assist Heavy Vehicle Drivers and Construction Plant Operators with daily transport activities, vehicle maintenance duties, yard operations, and general support functions.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or N3 qualification
- Valid driver’s licence
- Minimum of one year of experience in a similar environment
- Code 10 or Code 14 driver’s licence will be advantageous
- Ability to work in a team and under pressure
- Good communication and customer service skills
Key Responsibilities
As a Driver’s Aide, your duties will include:
Loading and Offloading Equipment
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment and materials safely.
- Ensure equipment is properly secured before transportation.
Transport Support
- Assist Heavy Vehicle Drivers and Construction Plant Operators during daily operations.
- Help transport equipment and materials to various work sites.
Vehicle Cleaning and Maintenance
- Clean vehicles regularly.
- Ensure vehicles are kept neat and presentable.
- Report defects and maintenance issues.
Housekeeping Duties
- Maintain cleanliness in the yard and work areas.
- Ensure tools and equipment are stored properly.
- Adhere to workplace housekeeping standards.
General Duties
- Assist with operational activities as instructed.
- Support team members in completing daily tasks.
- Perform additional duties as required by management.
Knowledge and Competencies Required
Technical Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of rigging and slinging
- Understanding of equipment tie-down procedures
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements
